The operating room (OR) has attracted increased attention as a new concept called Hybrid OR because of recent image diagnostic technology development. Compared to the great progress of medical engineering and technology, the first new concept of OR since the end of World War II came under the spotlight 10 years ago. However, its basic design still remains the same as the end of the war.

 

Through research, we observed that a lot of medical equipment (ME) is set in limited space, therefore surgical environment is filled with poor usability and lack of functions. Only the practiced skills of medical personnel make operations possible in today’s medical practice. We have identifies the problems, which causes inefficient surgical operation and create a risk of injury such as the jam of ME. It is an urgent need to create a new OR design considering the correlation between medical personnel and equipment.
